-About Darko C. Nikolic-
Darko C. Nikolić (born 1979 in Göttingen) lives and works in Hamburg. His artistic practice is dedicated to Constructive Art. In a continuous cycle of exploration and creation, he examines structures, orders, and rhythms. His works emerge through precise arrangements of form and color, unfolding and evolving in ever-new variations.
Nikolić considers the immediate perception of color and form as an essential element of his art. He believes that each viewer should interpret his art in their own way to reach a deeper level of meaning and establish a connection between the artwork and the viewer. By foregoing predetermined interpretations, he creates an open field of possibilities in which the viewer can discover their own thoughts and emotions in unique ways. Thus, his artworks can serve as tools for self-discovery.
His sculptures, installations, and paintings, made from materials such as steel, wood, glass, and plastics, reflect his passionate engagement with structure and rhythm. The works have been exhibited worldwide in museums and galleries, including the Deji Art Museum in Nanjing, China, earning him international recognition.
Nikolić’s works are characterized by geometric shapes, clear lines, and vibrant colors, continuously contributing to the evolving language of form and color in art.
